It is becoming difficult for the small equine farmer to dispose of manure, bedding and hay in an environmentally acceptable way.  Run-off, water source contamination, and the stockpiling of manure are becoming issues for local Boards of Health.  This puts pressure on the horse owner to regularly remove equine waste, a potentially difficult and costly undertaking.
